When you find yourself wishing for a circumstance in your life or within yourself to be over, we have a suggestion for you how you can become part of the solution.
When there is something that you wish to be over, ask yourself why you wish this to be over. What will be better in your experience when this is over?
Ask for the essence of it, not the details. The essence such as emotions, feelings and states of being. It could be relief, it could be a feeling of abundance, it could be a sense of physical wellbeing, it could be a sense of connection, it could be any kind of flavor of wellbeing.
Make note of it. Review it. Spend some time dwelling on the essence of what it is that you desire or expect to be better when this circumstance is over. Spend time daydreaming or talking or thinking about these essences.
Also ask yourself - where in my life do I already experience the essence of what I desire here? Make note of those also.
All of this is a process, a practice. As you keep doing it, you find more and more ways in which this essence or essences are already present in your life.
This practice may feel awkward and difficult in the beginning because it is unusual. You are so used to seeing this circumstance that you wish to be over as a problem or a burden. Approaching it from the perspective of: What is it I desire out of this? What will this thing being over give me? And then tending to that essence and making it grow in your life - that is basically the process. For most it is a new perspective and a new practice.
Over time it becomes easier to tune into the essence, dwell on the essence, describe it.
Through this practice you become part of the solution. You enhance your wellbeing.
For what used to be a burden or a problem is now something that inspires within you a giving of attention to what it is that you want and that you enjoy.
